Elora's Story

Welcome to Elora Laird Art. My name is Tammie Laird and I am Elora's mother. I created this business to carry on the legacy my daughter left on earth and bring awareness to mental illness and suicide.

Elora was an incredibly talented sketch artist and photographer. She loved nature, animals, butterflies, dragonflies, hummingbirds, and her black cat, Pumpkin. She was a dreamer, and anything she wanted to learn, she taught herself, including sewing, jewelry making, and taxidermy. Elora's real passion was photography, which she learned in high school. She loved photographing creatures, flowers, sunrises and sunsets, food creations, landscapes, and the sky. She spent many hours on the roof of our house photographing the sky. Her father passed away in 2006 and I often wonder if she was hoping for a glimpse of him in heaven.

Elora suffered with mental illness and on March 27, 2019, she lost her battle with this disease when she took her own life, one month before her 25th birthday.

It was Elora's dream to sell her artwork. We are now doing that for her. A portion of every sale is donated to the Elora Laird Memorial Art Scholarship. Donations can be made directly to the scholarship through the Alvin ISD Education Foundation using this link:
